Satchel terms of use
Version 1.0 · Last updated 18 October 2026
About these terms
These terms apply when you use the Satchel app and website at satchel.ae. By creating an account you agree to them. Satchel is operated from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
What Satchel does
Satchel reads the school emails, letters, links and screenshots you send it and turns them into a family planner with dates, kit, payments, forms and days off for each child. Satchel is currently in an early pilot: features may change, and it’s provided free of charge during the pilot.
Satchel isn’t the school
Satchel is an independent app. It isn’t made by, endorsed by or connected to any school, and school names appear only because they’re in the updates you send.
Please double-check
Satchel uses AI to read school updates. It works hard to get things right, but it can misread, miss or misdate something. Your school’s own communications are always the official source. Please check anything important, such as deadlines, payments, consent forms and closures, with the original message or the school. Satchel isn’t responsible for missed or incorrect information.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older, and a parent, guardian or carer of the children you add.
- Keep access to your email account secure, since sign-in codes are sent there.
- You can invite one other person to share your planner. Anyone you invite can see and change it, so only invite people you trust.
What you send to Satchel
- Only send school updates and information you’re allowed to share with us.
- Don’t use your Satchel address to send unrelated emails, other people’s private information or anything unlawful.
- You keep ownership of what you send. You allow us to process it only to provide Satchel to you.
Fair use
Don’t try to break, overload or misuse Satchel, access other families’ planners, or copy the app. To keep Satchel running smoothly, each family can have up to 50 updates read per day.
Changes and availability
We may change or improve Satchel, or pause it for maintenance. If we ever close the service, we’ll give reasonable notice where we can so you can save anything you need. If we change these terms in an important way, we’ll tell you in the app first. The version and date at the top show when these terms last changed.
- Version 1.0, 18 October 2026: first published version.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from My Family → your initial → Delete my account and data. If someone else shares your planner, it stays with them. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Our responsibility
Satchel is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses, or for missed events, payments or deadlines resulting from information in the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under UAE law that can’t be limited.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction.
